TRA 156 Brighton Festival

Course Description

The Brighton Festival is one of the most exciting cultural events on the globe, offering an engaging spectrum of theatre, music, comedy, dance and visual art. A popular destination for London day-trippers, this quaint seaside resort features an array of interesting lifestyle choices, which add so much to the overall festival experience! The Brighton Festival’s programming is comparable to that of the much larger Edinburgh Festival, and recent years have seen appearances by renowned artists of equal caliber. Guest curators have included Vanessa Redgrave, Brian Eno, Anish Kapoor and Aung San Suu Kyi. Additionally, the festival runs concurrent to the local Fringe Festival, as well as travelling circuses, rock shows and late night cabarets. Our program will be chosen from all of these available cultural options.

It is too soon to know who or what to expect at the 2013 festival, because their program will not be confirmed until March of that year. However, adventurous culture lovers can be certain of a full and exciting festival experience. Each and every day will be spent seeing shows – large and small, mainstream and experimental – venturing backstage for artistic encounters, observing works-in-progress, site seeing, and sampling the rich pub and club culture!
