FIF 196 Understanding American Politics




Course Description

With the 2012 American election approaching, Canadians are bombarded with U.S. politics. In this course, broaden your understanding of the events currently underway through a rich mixture of readings, newspaper pieces, and discussions. Use this framework and a crash-course in American government to understand "how we got here". Continue with both discussions and projects related to the key issues, personalities, and affiliations involved in the campaign becoming more focused on "wedge issues" and "swing states" as the courses comes to a close.
