ASL 501 Deaf Culture and Community




Course Description

An introduction to the elements of deaf culture and community, looking at historical oppression as well as current issues.  This course is taught in sign language and we will focus on how deaf people view themselves as a cultural group and experience living in a hearing society.

Prerequisites

Sign Language 201 or equivalent
