FIF 193 Biometric Technologies in Personal Identity and Security

Course Description

Personal identification has changed dramatically since the use of biometrix technologies that use your behavioural and physiological features (face, eyes, ears, hands, voice, and gait) instead of passwords. However, even biometric data can be stolen and used without your authorization. This course introduces advanced biometric technologies for your security, explains the possible attacks on personal security and their consequences, as well as strategies that minimize risk. Ethical and social aspects of biometrics-based security are also discussed.
