BMC 196 Air Monitoring and Gas Detection

Course Description

Assessing airborne contaminant concentrations is an essential aspect of ensuring a safe and healthy workplace. Workers' lives may depend on your results. The challenges lie in developing air monitoring strategies that are appropriate to the hazard, obtaining accurate data, interpreting the data and finally communicating the results clearly. Learn the advantages and limitations of a wide variety of commonly used air monitoring equipment and gain hands-on experience in air monitoring and sampling techniques, including gas detection for hazardous atmospheres and collection of airborne contaminant samples (gases and particulates).
