Course Description

Good leaders use their emotional intelligence to increase their personal and interpersonal effectiveness. Emotional intelligence can be learned, developed, and enhanced. Discover your EQ, learn how to relate concepts and competencies of emotional intelligence to leadership effectiveness, and create practical strategies to foster your emotional intelligence in the workplace.

Course Details

Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to:

  • Investigate and understand the 15 components of the Bar-On EQ-i 2

  • Develop a strategy to strengthen your emotional intelligence in the workplace

  • Evaluate and appraise techniques for making more effective emotionally intelligent decisions

There will be a $55 lab fee for the Bar-On EQ-i 2.

Due to the intensive nature of this course, it is recommended that you pre-read or familiarize yourself with course materials prior to the course.

Students are expected to attend all sessions.

Students will be required to complete assignments during the week and may be asked to prepare a final assignment after the course has ended.

The instructor may choose to use Desire2Learn (D2L), an online learning environment, to post the Course Outline and other course materials. If you have questions about using D2L, let your instructor know when you attend the first class. D2L may not be available before the start date of the course.

A $25 fee applies for course withdrawals and transfers.
