Course Description

Understand the objectives, scope and complexity of marketing, as well as the terminology and activities involved in managing the marketing function. Take a managerial approach with respect to product development, distribution, pricing and promotion. Emphasis is on: ethics, consumer behaviour, relationship marketing, market research, new product introduction, and the product life cycle.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

Upon successful completion of this course you will be able to:

  • Speak the language of marketing (terms, concepts and frameworks used by marketing professionals)
  • Be able to describe how marketing is a process that includes a number of elements not just sales and communications
  • Use the knowledge you have acquired to understand, influence or make marketing decisions related to product, place, price and promotion

It is not possible to register online for this course until you have successfully completed BMC 352 Learning Online or have a Learning Online Prerequisite Waiver in your profile. You may enrol in this course, by telephone, if you are enrolled in a section of BMC 352 that will be completed before this course begins.
  • This course will be delivered using Desire2Learn (D2L).
