EDU 101 Assisting in Language and Learning




Course Description

Learn practical ways to enhance a student's ability to communicate effectively through writing, reading, speaking and listening. Also, reflect on the nature of language learning, learning styles, multiple intelligences, and discover effective strategies to use with your students.

Course Details

COURSE OBJECTIVES

Throughout and upon completion of this course, students will acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to:

  • Actively reflect on the nature of language learning and effective strategies for working with students by reading text articles and participating in class discussions.
  • Learn practical ways to enhance students' ability to communicate effectively through writing, reading, speaking and listening
  • Enhance one another's learning by sharing ideas and resources

Notes

During registration in this course you will be asked to choose either Workplace or Practicum.  You will then be automatically placed in the appropriate section.  The $35 fee for the placement has been included in the course fee.

Prerequisites

For online courses, students must have taken Learning Online for Educational Assistants.
