WRI 108 Writing Non-Fiction for Children and Youth




Course Description

Do you have a great idea for a non-fiction book? Whether for the juvenile or young adult market, this one-day workshop will provide the foundation to help writers develop the skills to produce a publisher-worthy manuscript. Topics to be introduced include refining the book idea, choosing the best format, conducting research, interview skills, tying into the educational market, illustration and photographic selection, writing for age-specific groups, and editing techniques. Learn the appropriate use of creative non-fiction to compose the exceptional writing publishers seek when they sign new authors.
