This workshop will examine and explore theories underlying decolonizing approaches being used in Indigenous communities, and concepts and theories that are foundational to Aboriginal Community Development, which are unique from those being used by mainstream Community Work. Through real life stories, examples of community projects, and recent work by FCSS Calgary to create a parallel structure for Aboriginal funding, the presentation will highlight the presenters' learning through interactive activities, and positive dialogue.
