CPE 171 Introduction to Mental Health and Drugs of Abuse

Course Description

Working with clients who struggle with mental health and substance use is an all too common aspect among treatment providers. This course provides clinicians with an understanding of psychiatric disorders within the DSM-IV, and the Stress-Vulnerability Model. Understand and identify the different types of drugs, their effects, visible signs of intoxication, and specific safety issues for staff.
