INT 118 Decorating as a Business




Course Description

This overview of operating a small decorating business will inform and guide new or aspiring decorators who have little or no experience operating a small business. Review areas of employment in the decorating field, qualities and strengths that contribute to success as a self-employed decorator, marketing basics, gaining practical experience, staying organized, and remaining motivated. Learn about different pay formats, how to structure  legal agreements with clients and trades, the importance of precise, written communication in project management, how to manage the creative process, and the components of the decorating process from the initial consultation to the final installation. Also discuss client relations, your own  goals and how to achieve them.
