TRA 129 California Wine Country

Course Description

The streets of San Francisco, the vineyards of Napa Valley, and the unique history of Sonoma await exploration on our tour of California Wine Country. From the food-lover's paradise of San Francisco's Ferry Terminal Market to the sounds and smells of North America's largest Chinatown, we'll delve into the depths of San Francisco. Then, crossing the Golden Gate Bridge, we'll taste the flavours of Marin County with a visit to Cowgirl Creamery and have a few oysters from Hog Island.

We'll tour the wineries of Sonoma and Napa and uncover the history of California's Bear Flag revolt which created the California Republic, a short-lived independent country. And along the way we'll sip a few wines and learn about the history and the future of California wines.
