TRA 125 The Islands of Italy: A Cultural and Archaeological Journey

Course Description

Join us on this 18-day adventure to some of the most famous, and some of the least visited, sites of Italy. In this completely new program, we'll spend our time on four islands—remote Sardinia, Sicily with its spectacular Greek and Roman remains, tiny volcanic Lipari, and cosmopolitan Capri—exploring ancient temples and medieval churches, stone-age monuments and Renaissance palaces, restive volcanoes and the haunts of wealthy Europeans. We'll travel by steam train and hydrofoil, and have some leisurely lunches in restaurants chosen for their superb local cuisine.
