FIF 155 Life Writing: Gathering All the Pieces

Course Description

Learn how to locate and understand many different kinds of resources available to life writers. Each week, a short assignment will focus on a different resource, such as photographs, diaries, recipes, books, jewellery, tools, documents, and professional items. Class members will choose items in their possession or accessible to them to use as the basis for the week's project, and class discussions will focus on sharing ideas, problems, and impressions. This is a great beginning for anyone who wants to write about a life, whether it's an individual, a family, or a group. Learn how to get objects to give up their secrets.
