BMC 342 Community Services and Group Work




Course Description

Build knowledge and confidence in group work theory and group processes. Develop the knowledge, skills and capacity to effectively plan, implement, and evaluate group work. Subjects covered will include: understanding group functions, group development, group dynamics, various group set-ups, facilitator’s roles, core values and group facilitation skills. This course will allow learners to put learning into practice in a supportive and enjoyable environment. Classes are a combination of theory, applications and experiential learning opportunities. Each learner will have opportunities to lead a presentation or group activities while receiving constructive feedback from peer learners.
