EDU 153 Observing, Documenting, and Providing Targeted Strategies




Course Description

This course begins by preparing individuals for observing students in the classroom setting, and then explains the process of documenting the observed behaviours in an objective manner. Next, a range of concerns and strategies are explored, which can be used on an individual basis or in a group format. These concerns and strategies include anger management, social skills training, stress management, self-esteem building, victimization/trauma, and academic coaching skills (i.e., time management, concentration skills, organization, memory strategies).

Notes

You do not need to be admitted the Educational Assistant Certificate program to enrol in this course. Students in the Educational Assistant, Teacher Assistant and Teacher Assistant Professional Certificate program, as well as those with an interest in the topic, are welcome to enrol.

No practicum or workplace learning requirements for this elective course.
