FIF 146 Introduction to Greek History

Course Description

This course will trace the development of the history of Ancient Greece from the earliest Greeks, the Myceaeans and inoans, through to the conquest of Greece by Rome and the status of Greece in the later Roman Empire. We will analyze the important events in the timeline of Greek history and the impact that the Greeks had on shaping western civilization. Students will gain greater understanding of the origins of modern institutions in Greece and the influence the Greeks had in defining the world we live in today.
