FIF 221 Evenings with Alberta Ballet

Course Description

This course is offered in cooperation with Alberta Ballet. Students will have a unique opportunity to look deeper into the upcoming performance of Giselle through lectures and discussions with artistic staff from Alberta Ballet. This course will cover the history and creation of Giselle as well as look at the creative process of staging such a well known and beloved classic.  Topics to be covered will include, but are not limited to; the history and story of Giselle, preparation of the dancers, costume and scenery as well as a look at the musical score.  In addition to attending the performance, students will have the opportunity to observe Alberta Ballet artists taking class on the stage of the Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium. Course fee includes the price of the ticket to the performance of Giselle.  Alberta Ballet season ticket subscribers please call to register at a reduced rate. Performance date: TBD
