Nicole Romanchuk, BEd

Certificate in Spanish Language and Culture (2009)

"My certificate will open doors for me in the future," says Nicole Romanchuk, a recent graduate of the Spanish Language and Culture Certificate.

Having lived in Mexico for five years, Nicole had learned basic Spanish language skills. But back in Calgary, when she was offered an opportunity to teach Spanish in the public school system, she felt the need for additional learning. It prompted her to pursue certification through Continuing Education.

"The program has definitely given me more confidence to teach," says Nicole. "I learned a lot, especially grammar."

Nicole, who is currently teaching dance at a Calgary high school, is thrilled to have her certificate and knows it will be helpful in the future, and may someday lead to employment opportunities in other countries.

"It was a very positive experience for me," says Nicole. "The teachers were wonderful, and I definitely learned a lot. I know I'll be back for more courses."
