Security Management Certificate (2009)

"All of my courses have been helpful to me," says David Ellsworth about the Security Management Certificate program, from which he recently graduated.

David had already received a promotion when he began taking courses. In fact, it was what prompted him to find a program. After accepting a position as security coordinator with Brookfield Properties in Banker's Hall, he chose to enrol with Continuing Education.

"I wanted to be as up to date as possible in my field," says David. "I felt I needed to upgrade my qualifications and thought the certificate program might lead to future promotions as well."

As it turns out, it did. David has since moved into a new position—Manager, Security and Life Safety, Banker's Hall.

Originally, David heard about the program from others who recommended it. He completed the certificate requirements in 4 and a half years—a pace that allowed him to work around his own busy schedule of family, job, and volunteer demands.
