To assist individuals in acquiring the skills required to work effectively in a global economy, Continuing Education is pleased to be working in collaboration with Forum for International Trade Training (FITT) to offer the FITT Certificate in International Trade.

FITT equips individuals and businesses with the practical skills they need to succeed in today's competitive global marketplace. An international training and professional certification body, FITT sets the standards and designs the training programs for the professional designation, Certified International Trade Professional (CITP). Those who will benefit from this program include: business professionals interested in improving their expertise in international trade, individuals who are new to exporting or importing and wish to further explore global market opportunities, and organizations seeking a strategic competitive advantage by training their staff with highly practical international trade skills.

To obtain a FITT Certificate in International Trade, you must successfully complete any four FITTskills assessments, or have received course exemptions for up to three FITTskills courses and successfully completed one FITTskills assessment. For more information on course exemptions, please email info@fitt.ca. This program may be completed in as little as eight months. There are no formal educational requirements; although successful completion of Grade 12 is the recommended minimum. Work related experience is an asset.

Each course is comprised of a three hour evening pre-session, two full days of training, and an assessment exam (evening) or project.
