This specialization is designed for people who perform mediation and third party intervention in their jobs and for those who are planning to be self-employed as private practice mediators/interveners. The Mediation/Third Party Intervention specialization gives in depth knowledge and skills in formal and informal mediation as well as other forms of third-party intervention. This 252-hour (36 training days) program is worth 18 credits (Justice Institute) and culminates in the Certificate in Conflict resolution: Mediation/Third Party Intervention Specialization upon completion of all course hours and the final assessment component.

This certificate satisfies the educational requirements for designation as a Chartered Mediator (C.Med.). For more information on the C.Med. designation, consult the ADR Institute of Canada.
