Parenting challenges got you stumped?

Do you have children two-years-old and up? Would you like to find some new tools to get them to listen and cooperate more?

If you would like a stronger relationship with your children, Parent Effectiveness Training (PET) may be the key. The program is now offered through Continuing Education. At the time of distribution of this newsletter, there were still seats available in the course.

"This is a course that can be helpful for any parent," says Margo Dilger, the program director who has added the course to Cont Ed's list of offerings. "Participants from the first session had nothing but good things to say about this course. As a programmer and a parent, I can attest to its great content."

Parent Effectiveness Training is the most researched, implemented and influential model of parenting. It was pioneered by Dr. Thomas Gordon, psychologist and a two-time nominee for the Nobel Peace Prize. The course, which runs three Tuesday evenings, starting Feb 5, is being taught by Judy Arnall, the author of Discipline Without Distress: 135 Tools for Raising Caring, Responsible Children Without Time-out, Spanking, Punishment or Bribery.

"You will also have the opportunity to access extra online help once the course is over," says Dilger.
